Kiosk Systems

A Kiosk, Pedestal or console system allows truck drivers to perform almost all check-in and check-out processes while remaining seated in their truck cabin. This self-service concept significantly limits the number of gate operator interventions allowing the terminal to reduce these resources and to minimize the average truck processing time.

Key features

  • Designed specifically for harsh and aggressive environments
  • A wide range of configurations are possible with different screen sizes, different heights, different components
  • Frame and electronics are physically separated allowing easy installation or replacement in case of defects
  • Supports all kinds of RFID reader technology (HID, Mifare, GEN2, ...)
  • Supports several biometric readers such as hand scan and fingerprint
  • Tilt and shift mechanism of component box facilitating the change of paper rolls
  • VoIP intercom with face camera
  • LED-based high bright LCD touch screens
  • Ticket printer for EIR and interchange routing
  • Diagnostic mode for gate personnel allowing fast and accurate support
  • Easy access to internal electronics
  • Bull bars to protect front panel from truck mirrors
  • Modern but functional design

Concept

The CAMCO Kiosk system is based on a completely new concept combining a unique and modern design with high modularity, high reliability, easy to use and limited service and maintenance requirements.

Each kiosk system is comprised of two or three separate components: a steel frame and the component box with - depending of the requirements - an external or integrated screen.

Kiosk - Driver Interface

One of the most important keys for a successful introduction of gate kiosks in a gate transaction process is the quality of human interface and communication between the truck drivers and the GOS. It is at the kiosk that precious time can be lost because drivers do not understand what to do or what data to enter. Experience taught us that short text messages, short orders, one question per screen in combination with a modern, easy graphical interface works best, and requires short learning curves.
