Container terminals are introducing unattended interchange solutions requiring efficient and safe human interfaces. The CAMCO GRID Kiosk is specifically designed to provide this efficiency, improving the productivity and safety of the container transfer processes in the interchange area.
Key Features
- Compact modular "plug in" design
- Easy "plug & play" components replacement
- No specific technical skills required for maintenance
- Very economical due to high intergration,
- PLC or TCP/IP interface
- Standard components: LCD touch screen, RFID reader and VoIP intercom
- Extendable with buttons (panic, attendance...), presence sensors, cameras...
- Optional weather protection
Concept
The CAMCO GRID Kiosk combines CAMCO's expertise to engineer complex industrial kiosk systems with its powerful Gate Operating System software into a stylish and strong design. The GRID kiosk is a compact device with high integration of its electronic components, yet with enough flexibility to allow customization towards the customers' needs and requirements. In function of the local requirements extra devices can be added as traffic lights (for straddle carrier), beacons, empty lane detectors, panic buttons, ...
The GRID Kiosk system is currently used in a wide variety of interchange operations based on straddle carriers or automatic stacking cranes (ASC) systems.
Benefits
CAMCO GRID kiosk allows the terminal operator to provide the truck drivers a simple, user-friendly and flexible interface during the transfer process. An interactive GRID kiosk limits the chances of mistakes, misinterpretations and frustrations. Given the complexity of remote operation of ASC cranes, it helps to have a flexible communication channel with the truck driver.
An additional benefit is the seamless integration with the GOS software, the GRID kiosk screens have the same "look & feel" as the CAMCO Gate Transaction kiosks, making it easy to operate for the truck drivers.
Thanks to the strong component integration the potential downtime in case of a defect is extremely limited: replacing the front panel that contains the components is all that it takes to have an operational system again. No specific technical skills are required.
The GRID kiosks make the container transfer operation an easy and straightforward process, by automating and facilitating the work of the truck driver, and limiting the need for an extended Help Desk.
