Condition Tracking Camera Portal

With unmatched speed, the Camera Portal generates a set of high resolution images of all trucks entering or exiting a terminal. Based on these certified images the system allows the seamless inspection of the condition of truck and cargo for damage claims management.

A fast and accurate OCR identification system detects most common trailer numbers and truck license plates. Additional container OCR identification can be added for mixed traffic terminals.

Concept

The Camera Portal is a unique in-house development of CAMCO, specifically designed to operate outdoor in the harsh environments of ports and terminals.

The CAMCO cameras are based on Linescan and Areascan technology and contain only thoroughly tested and industrial-quality components. Linescan technology can be compared with a flatbed scanner. This scanning technology delivers extremely sharp images far ahead of 2D stitching technology.

The Camera Portal uses only a strict minimum of equipment, allowing a fast installation, minimal power supply, and requiring only limited support and maintenance. It has an exceptionally high reliability, is completely solid state and fully redundant.

High Throughput

It's fast processing speed makes that a single Camera Portal can handle up to 500 trucks per hour, limiting the requirement to install numerous portals. The portal is based on "spot line triggering" so that all pictures are taken on one virtual line. Combined with the fast processing, this concept allows bumper to bumper traffic and does not require traffic throttling solutions such as speed bumps, traffic lights or barriers in front of the system.

Damage assessment

The CAMCO Camera Portal is the standard in the RoRo market for its unparalleled quality of images needed for damage tracking.

The legs and tires of trailers and intermodal containers are a typical critical zone for damages.
Most RoRo portals have extra chassis cameras to focus specifically on the bottom part of the trailers.

Benefits

The CAMCO camera technology generates images of excellent quality and resolution that can serve as the indisputable visual proof of the exact condition in which each trailer or container entered and left the terminal, and thus allowing a very short payback period because of the significant reduction of damage claims.

In addition, the terminal operator can provide extra and highly appreciated services towards its customers: with a few mouse clicks they will be able to access and check via the same images the damage status of their fleet.

SuperGate is only one of many solutions that CAMCO offers to help terminals with even very limited truck volumes (50 truck per day…) reach higher efficiencies and reduced operational costs. Do not hesitate to contact us to learn more how we can help you.
