Camco Technologies has been selected gate and rail automation partner at the Wolfurt, Wels and Vienna-South TSA intermodal terminals. The three terminals currently make use of manual gate systems. Each of the terminals will integrate 2 truck video gates as well as in and outbound kiosk for automated checks of trucks and cargo. For train wagon and cargo registration, the 3 transshipment facilities will rely on the Camco Technologies rail camera portal. One rail video gate will be deployed at each end of the terminal. Hardware, GOS and rail portal software will integrate in the KLV 2000 TSA terminal operating system.

The Camco Technologies truck and rail portals are equipped with AI embedded cameras, capable of registering container, trailer and rail wagon ID, ISO code, weight info and door direction.

Dedicated engines based on convolutional neural networks and OCR technology immediately start processing after image acquisition. The data is sent to the terminal operating system KLV 2000 allowing instant processing of freight and trains increasing overall terminal efficiency.

DI Dr. Johann Pluy, Member of the Board of Directors ÖBB Infrastruktur: “Our focus as ÖBB Infrastruktur is on digitalization and automation in the intermodal freight terminals in order to further develop success criteria such as efficiency, safety and customer satisfaction as well as to facilitate the access of goods to rail. We are pleased to have Camco Technologies as an experienced partner for the implementation of the Video gates. The use of the new technology will further improve the capacity, efficiency and quality of our terminal services in the future.

Dr. Renate Glisic, Head of Division Terminal Service Austria:  “We have high expectations of this new partnership. We have been impressed by the Camco Technologies solutions portfolio and track record. Their solutions fit exactly in what we need to leapfrog towards the digitalization of our combined transport infrastructure”.
